PET Bottles
In Singapore, about 900 million kg of plastic waste is discarded every year. Just 4% of this is recycled. The National Environment Agency (NEA) avers that no facility in Singapore recovers contaminated plastics from domestic waste, and that domestic waste makes up about 52 per cent of the total waste.
With the aim to reduce plastic waste, PET Bottles plans to set up a recycling PET bottles facility that will be collected from waste disposal bins in NUS.
